Ebay, PPC Phones, PRINTER INK

First, ebay is evil and is the subject of my blog tonight ;)

PPC Phones:
Well, I finally went out and got a Pocket PC phone on ebay! Well, a couple of them, I'll get to that in a second. The one I'm going to be getting soon is a Samsung i700 for Verizon Wireless. It's gou a built in camera so I don't have to lose my camera when I switch my Samsung a670 for it, which is nice. The part that excites me the most is being able to use Pocket Outlook and IE to stay in touch where ever I am. I'm going to sigh up for VW's 5.00/month internet plan that charges against my minutes. I think it's the best deal for me right now. I'm so excited about it that I've already downloaded PPC 2002 development tools and am currently researching making my very own multi-network chat client for my phone (and giving it away free). We'll see how that goes, currently I'm having difficulties getting all the development tools I need set up correctly on my PC because Windows XP seems to think the emulator causes stability problems :P I'll haxor it though :)

I mentioned I bought two of these things (well, not that model). Well, I didn't want to spend the extra $$$ on the Samsung at first, so I bought a Audiovox/Toshiba Thera 2032 PPC phone on the cheap... Turns on there was a decent enough reason why it was cheap. The phone does not support GPS, and apparently as of January this year the FCC is not allowing cell phone companies to activate phones that don't have GPS (:-P to them). So right now I have it back on Ebay. It's still a great Pocket PC, and works perfectly. I just need it to work as a phone. If that doesn't work I'll probably eventually sell it on the cheap to one of my friends, or something... we'll see.

Printer Ink:
WOOO HOOOO!!! Color printer Ink just came in from ebay, all in all I spent a total of $30 for 4 black ink cartridges and a set of color cartridges. I don't think that the print quality is *as good* as with the official stuff, but not much worse. And considering just one black cartridge would cost me over thirty, I'm very happy.

Sick Becci:
Becci is really sick, she just got back from the Dr's today, and they don't know what's going on with her. So this is for her ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: ::hug:: :)

Nikki's bunny:
Nikki just got a bunny rabbit. I warned her that it would eat everything, but then again there are very few people I know who are as good with animals as she is (Jenn is the only one that comes to mind). So I'm sure she'll manage alright.

Jenn...

Hey there, it's been a really really really long time since I've seen Jenn. Which is sad, she's such a great person to hang out with, but is seems like we never quite get a chance to hang out :( I'm hopeing that I get a chance to hang out with her this weekend, but we'll see what happens. I'm actually going to end up going home this weekend for a little bit. Oh well, we'll see what happens. If you read this Jenn give me a call some time!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Ebay

Well, thanks to ebay I was able to feed my brand spanking new Harry Potter addiction for only $30. I got the first 5 books, and damn do the last two look thick! Right now I'm reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Before I started reading it I actually started playing the GameCube game (which I bought last weekend). It's kind of weird having started playing the game before reading the book, I know that certain events will take place, but because the game is based on the movie (which is already different from the book) everything happens really differently. Loving the book so far though! Haven't really gotten too far into it, Harry just started his first class of the term. So we'll see what happens :)

Speaking of Ebay, wow am I addicted right now! So far I've gotten my Harry Potter books, a modem for my parents comptuer and a bunch of ink for my printer (though I need more printer ink because I ended up getting 4 black cartraiges and I need color too). And now I'm really eyeing some Pocket PC Phones. I'm not sure what I"m going to do as far as one of those goes... I'd really like to get to get a Samsung i700, but those are kind of expensive right now unless you want to get a broken one. So I'll probably end up going for a Audiovox Toshiba Thera 2032 because I can get it for $90 which is a great deal. The only downer is no camera, but I guess I could always sell it back when I'm ready and get one with a camera. $90 for a PPC phone is such a good deal though! It would totally be the hook up, so I'm deffonetly going to pick one up... Ifn' anyone is feeling like they want to buy me one (esp. the i700) just look it up on ebay :)

The chamber of secretes & Vonage

A little while ago, Becci and I started reading Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secretes. I'm liking this one about as much as I liked the first one. Somehow it seems like the action started up much more quickly in this book than the last, or maybe I'm just way more into it. Anway, we just got through Chapter 11. At this point I'm gussing that either harry is the slithern air and doesn't know it and accidently opened the chamber, or Lockheart had something to do with it. Lockheart I would doubt though, the guy is a fake and generally a moron. I also kind of doubt the harry theory, simply because he's the good guy... And obvoiusly the good guy can't be the slithern air :P I guess I'll find out.

Vonage:
My decided to switch our phone service over to Vonage a little while ago. We just got the hardware this weekend. I'm really impressed by how simple the system is my self. Turns out all we have to do is unhook from the main telephone network at our TNI box, and plug our VoIP router into any phone jack. Vuala, we have VoIP phone service going though our whole house at half the price of regular phone service. The best part is included with that is free domestic LD (includes full US, Canada and Puerto Rico), which is great! Of course the down side is the loss of phone service if the power goes down. I guess we could always get a UPS, that would give us a good ½ hour of phone service after the power goes down, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Also, while I did not get to test the service, considering I was downloading files at over 700K/s I expect voice quality to be superior to our standard land line. We'll see.
